스포츠웨어 레깅스의 시대별 국내 특허 출원 및 개발 동향에 관한 연구
우리는 최근까지 전염성이 높은 신종 바이러스로 인해 사람과의 접촉을 최소화 하였고, 국내 감염자가 급속히 확 산하자 정부는 사회적 거리두기를 실시하게 되었다. 이러한 비대면 생활은 홈트레이닝에 대한 관심 증가와 우리나라 국민 의 생활수준 향상의 영향으로 여가 스포츠에 대한 인식의 변화를 가져왔다. 이에 스포츠웨어 관련 수요가 늘어나고 있는 데, 그중에서도 레깅스는 요가, 필라테스, 헬스 등 다양한 생활운동 환경에서 자주 사용되고 있으며, 대표적인 애슬레저 웨어이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 레깅스와 관련한 특허들을 확인하여 분석하고 미래 스포츠산업과 스포츠 융복합 및 지식 재산 관련 연구의 기초자료로 활용하는데 목적이 있다. 특허검색은 대한민국 특허청이 소장한 특허 정보 검색 서비스인 키프리스(KIPRIS, www. kipris.or.kr)를 대상으로 대한민국 특허청에 등록된 1993년부터 2023년까지의 자료를 검색 하였고, 검색어는 ‘레깅스’ 이다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시대별 레깅스의 특허 경향은 1993년 부터 레깅스 관련 특허출원이 시작되었고, 코로나19와 4차 산업혁명의 기술들로 인해 운동처방이나 운동정보 제공 등의 특허들이 등록되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 최근에는 레깅스를 운동복의 용도뿐만 아니라 일상복으로도 많이 이용하 며, 사용자의 편리성과 범용성을 고려한 레깅스의 개발과 관련 특허가 상당부분 등록되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 센서를 통한 운동처방 및 동작분석이 용이한 레깅스도 지속적으로 개발이 되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
A Study on the Patent Application and Development of Sportswear Leggings
Until recently, we've taken steps to reduce human contact in light of the highly contagious new virus, prompting the government to enact social distancing measures as Korea's infections spread rapidly. This shift to non-face-to-face interactions has sparked a surge in interest in home workouts and altered perceptions of leisure sports, driven by the improving living standards of the Korean population. Consequently, there's been a growing demand for sportswear, with leggings being a popular choice. Leggings are commonly worn in diverse sports environments including yoga, pilates, and fitness, representing a quintessential piece of athleisure wear. Thus, the objective of this study is to identify and analyze patents associated with leggings, utilizing them as foundational data for researching the future sports industry, sports convergence, and intellectual property. The patent search covered data from 1993 to 2023 registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office via KIPRIS (Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service), accessible at www.kipris.or.kr. The search term employed was 'leggings'. The findings of this study are outlined as follows: Initially, it was observed that the patent trend for leggings commenced in 1993, with patents associated with exercise prescription and the provision of exercise information being registered, driven by advancements in COVID-19 technologies and the fourth industrial revolution. Secondly, leggings are commonly worn both as casual wear and activewear, resulting in the registration of numerous patents aimed at enhancing user convenience and overall usability. Furthermore, there has been ongoing development in leggings equipped with sensors for easy exercise prescription and motion analysis.
